Inspired by a need to justify my messy habits, this poster will be making an appearance in my workspace soon. Have a messy space too? Buy it here: avintageposter.com
The Packaging
Inspired by the personality of early 1900's mail, each poster is packaged in a rough brown paper mailer with a loud label announcing it's destination and stamped logo in the corner. Too bad packages aren't allowed to be mailed with twine anymore, that would have been the perfect finishing touch. But you don't want to make enemies with the post office.
The Posters
Each poster is printed on an off-white, heavy, textured stock most similar to watercolor paper. The finish size of each poster is 11" W x 14" H with a .5" border all the way around, taking the colored portion to 10" W x 13" H (Mini posters are 8" W x 10" H with .5" border).
The Story
The idea for this company was hatched in December 2009 as an inexpensive way to spice up a room without making it look cheap or tacky. Posters that were simple, graphic, and colorful were the goal.
Over the next few months the posters were very slowly designed, one by one, until the collection grew large enough to launch. Then began a series of test prints and color experimentation. A lot of color experimentation. After looking at hundreds of color samples, 22 delicious colors were voted on and officially christened.
Finally, on August 29, 2010 A Vintage Poster was offically open for business (hooray!).
